- Baseballs four Opening Day's have come and gone. The Rangers have petitioned MLB to have four Game 6's as well.
- In
a recent Time Magazine article, Ozzie Guillen is quoted as saying he
"loves" Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Shortly after, he apologized for
the comments, saying he is "against everything 100 percent the way this
man (been) treating people for the last 60 years.” Upon hearing this,
Jim Leyland said he loved Adolf Hitler. When asked to clarify his
comments, he again repeated "No seriously. Good guy that Hitler."
- Josh Beckett gave up five home runs on Saturday, his 2012 debut. He
didn't give up his 5th home run until June 28th last year. He hit his
fifth beer 30 minutes after being pulled from the game.
- Chien-Ming
Wang, who strained his hamstring in spring training, threw off a mound
this weekend. The Nationals expect him to pitch a rehab game in about 10
days. He is expected to be injured again at some point, and re-join the
Nationals rotation sometime between now and August 2014.
